I had problems getting it to work until <!--more-->I tried changing a value in the configuration file.  I have another MySQL database with powering a genealogy program, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phpgedview.net\/\">phpGedView <\/a> and I compared the two configuration files.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The WordPress config file line below was the problem:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>define(&#8216;DB_HOST&#8217;, &#8216;localhost&#8217;);    \/\/ 99% chance you won&#8217;t need to change this value<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em><\/em>but I got the the error message &#8220;<em>Error establishing a database connection<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>I replaced &#8216;localhost&#8217; with &#8216;76.162.254.xxx&#8221; (xxx are the last three digits) and the installation was almost immediate. I use ixWebHosting for my blog.<\/p>\n<p>Its great when things suddenly work, particularly when you don&#8217;t really know what you are doing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This blog is powered by WordPress using a MySQL database.
