While supermarkets like Woolworths and Coles try to limit people in stores, an obvious thing is to allow<\/strong> and encourage 24 hour trading<\/strong>. Ditto Bunnings <\/strong>and other essential stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making more checkouts<\/strong> available would also reduce queues and crowding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If this is accompanied by on-line and store signs showing shopping numbers hour by hour<\/strong>, then shoppers would be able to time their shopping to shop when it is less busy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For customers in higher risk categories shopping at 4am may be a worthwhile choice – in addition to the prescribed hours some shops offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsidising this change may be a good use of taxpayers money. It affects all of us and would give extra jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
