One day the light went on and off, but the mechanism would not work. It was repaired by ATA under warrantee by putting two SMD resistors of twice the value, piggy backed, to raise the rating of a failed SMD resistor. The solution was still under-rated for the load and eventually failed again.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1202\" style=\"width: 263px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1202\" class=\"wp-image-1202\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.dbohs.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/ATA-GDO-V1-300x269.jpg\" alt=\"ATA GDO 7V1\" width=\"253\" height=\"227\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.dbohs.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/ATA-GDO-V1-300x269.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.dbohs.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/ATA-GDO-V1.jpg 362w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 253px) 100vw, 253px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1202\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">ATA GDO 7V1<\/p><\/div>\n<p>To repair the second unit, I bought a broken one\u00a0 on eBay very cheaply for parts. I thought it was a relay, but it turned out to be the same 330 ohn SMD resistor in all the failures.<\/p>\n<p>When my second unit failed and we repaired it (my son did). with a tradiational 1\/4 W resistor soldered to the appropriate pins on the other side of the board.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some pictures of the failed part. The circuit board is removed by taking the control panel off &#8211; 3 screws (two on the front and one underneath), and unplugging the two wiring harnesses.\u00a0 The board itself it attached to the back of the control panel with\u00a0 4 screws.
