In 1952 William Gourley was convicted of safe-breaking with the only linking evidence being the print of his big toe.<\/p>\n<p>It should be possible to use a biometric pad on a set of scales to identify the person and analyse and store the weight.<\/p>\n<p>Biometric scales using fingerprints have been patented, but it means the scales must be less compact.<\/p>\n<p>The idea is obvious.
