Google Insights allows various search terms to be analysed including trends and geographically, as a map. Is the centre of the world for Occupational Hygiene South Africa? – followed by Australia. In the US and Canada, the term Industrial Hygiene is used.

The map for Industrial Hygiene shows the term to not only be strong in North America, but India. I guess there is a lot of influence from US multinationals in India. Not surprisingly, Australia also ranks for “Industrial Hygiene” – the US CIH exams are held every two years in Australia.

Here is the live trend for Occupational Hygiene. There seems to be a slow decline, but this is not reflected in the continuous increase in Occupational Hygienists in Australia.
