Face masks in Cambodia

During a literacy project with 3 rural primary schools in Cambodia in October 2009, I saw several posters by the Australian Government on the walls of classrooms.

The design of the mask is such that it would give the wearer very limited protection as the face mask would not seal with the face and leak badly, particularly around the nose. I wonder if the Australian Government agency bothered to get expert advice on section, fitting and service life of face masks.

None of the schools had electricity and all had poor sanitation.

I even saw the cutesy mask in a food stall the next day
