This photo was published in our local paper, The Courier Mail, soon after 9/11 of a policeman outside the NYSE. Ironically the caption was “ready for anything…”. Notice that the policeman’s respirator is only held by one strap, making any protection very low. The other strap is dangling. I’m not sure of the model, but it looks like a 3M dust respirator.
Since 9/11 there have been a number of published papers with estimates of toxic exposures, particularly dusts, including asbestos.
